We are glad to announce that SCRP is now serving GLM-5.3 as our most intelligent AI offering. As of today, GLM-5.3 ties with Kimi K3 as the most intelligent open model, ranking 5th overall among all models. In our internal tests, GLM-5.3 answers questions faster than GLM-5.2 due to more concise reasoning process.

We are currently optimizing our GLM inference pipeline, so you might experience occasional slowdown as we experiment with different settings.

SCRP-Assistant and SCRP-Chat models now have access to Brave Search API. Our previous web search functionality was based on searxng, a self-hosted search aggregator that search engines routinely block. The adoption of Brave Search API means that all our users now have .access to high-quality search results.

Because Brave Search API is a paid service, there is a usage limit that resets every 30-days: Faculty members, staff and PG students: 1000+ searches Others: 100 searches

Web search is now on by default on SCRP-Chat. A websearch CLI is also available on the cluster.

Docling PDF Processing

Docling is now available on the cluster as an alternative to vision-based scrp-vision and pure-text pdftotext. We have done a comprehensive comparison of different PDF processing methods, and docling stands out as the best choice when no equation or charts are involved.

If you would like SCRP-Assistant to automatically use docling, please run the assistant-setup command again in a terminal.
